We are a family run business that continues the traditions of four generations on Blackcastle Farm. We are a Bord Bia approved farm and have been breeding a beautiful herd of Piedmontese cattle since 2005. Our special herd of Piedmontese cattle naturally produce a very healthy beef.
ABOUT USBook The Stables, an entire farmhouse, for your next staycation. The Stables are a restored pre-famine building in the heart of BlackCastle Farm Yard. A separate HSE approved kitchen with open plan sleeping and lounge area is bright and airy. It includes two double beds and a bunkbed.
You will have access on request to feed the donkey and hens and take a tour of the farm. It also has an ancient ring fort and close to the local drish river which is available for trout fishing and swimming.
BOOK NOWOur calves are reared by their mother until they are ten months old. They graze outdoors for 9 months a year and they go indoors for the 3 coldest months. Animal welfare and animal husbandry are a huge priority. We put a lot of time and effort into our cattle to make sure they have the best of feed and comfort.
You can purchase this great quality meat in traditional cuts like steaks, roasts, mince, burgers and other cuts like diced beef and our signature beef products like the Blackcastle 1% fat beef sausages, Pastrami and cured beef.
SHOP NOWThroughout the summer months we will offer a number of workshops. Already on our schedule are courses in Dry Stone Effect Stone Wall Building, Wood Fire Pizza Oven Building and Local Fresh River Fishing
Each workshop starts runs from 10am - 4.30pm with coffee break and lunch, comprising of Blackcastle Farm Beef. The workshops are run by local experts and classes are limited to 10 people.
Blackcastle Farm is a Bord Bia approved farm with an abundance of biodiversity and wildlife. We love the farm and are committed to the environment, biodiversity, and sustainable farming management.
We have left hedgerows uncut for 10 years to allow birds and other wildlife to flourish on the farm. No pesticides are used on Blackcastle Farm and as a result we have lots of wildflowers and dandelions.
